Naked Neck/Turken Thread

my mario (the maran's daddy) is sick, my Nn girls in his flock are not in the best shape either. I am doing my best and hope he will survive. but I have realized the place where I live is not good for chickens (bad climates).

as I am trying to sell my house I beg all of you to say just 1 word of prayer that I do sell my house and buy a better place for my chickens and hopefully add the other animals too (goats for sure).

my chicks are due in about a week. as I had a bad experience with a bad quality chicken starter the last time I had chicks I decided to feed the new chicks corn meal, home made sheep's fresh cheese and herbs and fresh greens + some olive oil.

Finally figured out what I am doing for a poultry project for the "dead" exhibits

When I get my NN chicks I will record there weight every 3 days until fair. And its also cool because I am doing a market trio with them!

Well, my explaination would involve magic and fairy dust, but I'm sure Kev has a scientific explaination involving er or bc or tq or something like that! lol lol

The NN are colored rather unusual.. the hen may be a black tail white in actuality instead of a true solid white. The roo has a pattern I have not seen, ever.. white with red on wing tips?

as for the daughter- what comb does she have? It looks pea comb in that picture. If she has a pea comb, then at least one of the whites are not her parent.

if she has a single comb, probably dealing with dominant white in one or both of the white birds and they are not pure for it. example if hen is black tail white and roo is one copy dominant white, that can throw some black birds. But if her comb is pea, it is either another roo bred the hen or egg was not hers etc.

Fresh out of the eggs all dried and mostly fluffy the two NN and the two honorary nn, They are all Stripey Butt's offspring so all Sc carriers, but none are from the CX girls I was trying for

Very cute. I've been wondering if nn sc carriers will show the signs on their legs.. if you happen to notice it, let me know please? Gut feeling says some of them will, but I wonder if NN/Nn somehow helps with making the occasional missing scales...

I did get a few pictures. Just a bit to cool outside today.

Same pullet. I got I think 4 like this one. A dark reddish color with a blue under down. They're all pretty good sized. Their dad was the Spangled Aloha rooster. Again I can't be 100% sure in mom but I'm pretty sure it was the Red Partridge hen because she had that blue under down and had pretty good size on her like these pullets.

Same pullet. Another nice colored Birchen. Dad was the Cinnamon rooster. He had a Black NN hen and a Blue NNhrn with him and 2 Gold Birchen hens also. So I suppose that any of those could be the mother. I have 4 pullets from this run. 2 Birchen and 2 Gold Birchen. I feel that the Black hen was the mother of at least 3 if these because they gave the size of the Black NN hen and also her shape ( she's 1/2 BJG), the other Gold Birchen I think was from one of the other three hens.

I'm posting another 2 pullets in the Green Egger Naked Neck thread.
