Naked Neck/Turken Thread

Two naked neck hatched , what do you think boys or girls, i think one is barred, and the other one is frizzle naked neck thats what i want frizzle naked neck single comb and clean legs

Too cute!!! My bet is that the first one is a cockerel and the second (frizzled) one is a pullet. I know it's early, but I love a challenge.

I managed to get the last few photos today.

Nugget - 3.4 lbs @ 10 weeks. I REALLY like his body shop, though I'm rather surprised that he still hasn't grown any tail feathers.



Buffy - 2.77 lbs @ 10 weeks.

Really quick update on some of Batch #1 (4 weeks old) and Batch #2 (1 week old).



3 more Nn, I didn't get any shots of. They are looking really good, I think only 1 is a cockerel.


Got quite a few Fm Nn chicks in hatch #2... some with feathered feet others without. I'm going to wait til they move to the really large brooder to get better pictures. There are several Fm with all white down, and tri-color chipmunk patterns. Crystal ball is broken at the moment so I'm in for some surprises.

They are GORGEOUS!!!! And you are definitely right about that one being a cockerel. He's got "boy" written all over him!

Desertchick Buffy has some blue. Do you have any cochin in the mix anywhere (the lack of a tail in nugget)

No Cochin. Buffy's mom was a White Rock/Ameraucana mix, and Dad was Zazzle - buff barred homozygous NN.

Nugget's parents are the ones that really perplex me. Mom is my nearly all black hen, Rue...the one who's head had been pecked right down to the skull.
Dad is also Zazzle.

Maybe it's the angle but Zazzle looks like he doesn't have much of a tail, or it was delayed in developing??

He was pretty young in this photo, around 16-18 weeks. He has much more of tail now but I haven't taken any new photos of him in a while. He's about 21 weeks in the photo below, though his tail is still much fuller now.
