Does anyone here have NN hatching eggs that they could/would be willing to ship? I have a friend on another thread who wants NNs and wants to start with hatching eggs. I'm not NPIP or even tested for anything, and so I'm seeing if anyone else here has any.

I have NN eggs I'm willing to ship. They are all Marans crosses or EE crosses. I'm not NPIP though - I don't have enough birds to qualify. PM me if your friend wants prices.

I am well and truly shocked. The little chick (the 6th one) that I didn't take pics of b/c I was convinced she wasn't going to make it, has turned a big corner and is active and seems to be thriving along w/ the others. So the next set of pic will have the 6th one in it.

That's super!!! My little iffy ones in the S&G NN group are also doing a lot better. It's such a relief.

Oh, and they are starting to show their gender (now 5 weeks). And, maybe this is wishful thinking, but by both feathers (more buff, as opposed to red coming on for the boys) and comb, it looks like "Heinz" 57 might, just might, be a GIRL! (But she is so sweet, I'll likely keep him/her either way...)

Yep. I dont' know what I was thinking, ordering chicks from Idaho in February. I get so used to thinking about our own local climate - and the only other time I've gotten chicks has been from southern sources. They are looking good and mostly big - I bet if I had timed it different, they would be even better!

Oh, and they are starting to show their gender (now 5 weeks). And, maybe this is wishful thinking, but by both feathers (more buff, as opposed to red coming on for the boys) and comb, it looks like "Heinz" 57 might, just might, be a GIRL! I dont know what i was thinking getting mine shipped here in February from Ohio. It was -15, not wind chill, when I got them. Same with my cochins, except they came from Illinois, they took a while to acclimate...




I am taking the NN×White Maran to my cousin for her birthday today.

Wanted to share: Puppy was such a good girl today. She escaped her paddock like always, and since the recent rain had brought on the fire ants, she was systematically going around the yard decimating each ant hill and filling up on all the larvae, scratching each deep to the core.

I am so jealous. I'm already nearly overwhelmed by ants around here, and so far my chickens are NOT interested.
