I am so jealous. I'm already nearly overwhelmed by ants around here, and so far my chickens are NOT interested. 

Boxelders here, by the thousands. They could be care less about them

Fancy looks more like he mom every day


I know she isn't a NN, but her mom is, and I just love how her color is developing


Some of the dark skinned ones still hanging on to those white feathers


I keep wondering what this ones pattern will turn out to be






Really hoping this blue is a girl, but thinking it is a lost cause

I was looking through the pics in this post (not realizing it was a quote) and w/ each next pic I was thinking these look just like my birds, who has birds like mine?????? lol lol lol

haha yeah those are most definitely your birds! Haven't seen anyone else try or manage to get those specific characteristics, they're darn impressive looking birds.

Do you have specific goals in terms of color/pattern or do you focus more on egg production and/or body size?

I would like to apologize in advance to those of you also in the FB group who will be seeing this round of photos a second time, but I CANNOT HELP MYSELF.

I set 22 eggs but my incubation notes show that there were 4 I weren't sure about going in. I had 16 chicks hatch! So, here, share in the cute with me

The little one on the right here was the 15th to hatch - wrong end pip and I'm keeping an eye on his legs. One of them didn't want to come underneath him. It is now, but it doesn't seem as strong as it should.







I suck, and wasn't able to get too many good pics of the one on the left here.


I have two of these red/brown capped chicks. The lady I got the eggs from says that all the ones she's had like this have been boys. So....


This lil fluffy ball of chick down....


The chick on the left was NOT amused about photo time. S/he was cold and wanted my hand cup to come back lol Meanwhile, Phyllis, on the right, was large and in-charge! (Hopefully Phyllis doesn't become Phil, but this one is staying, either way!)


I really love how the naked necks make them look like they're wearing coats!



These kids were clearly happy about photo time too



Left chick is also DEFINITELY staying. Look at that bare neck with that one little spot of chick down! And the spots around the eyes!

This is going to be so much fun watching them grow up!

Sute chicks - and great pictures! I admire your skills - I'm barely organized enough to make sure they have heat, food and water when they've just hatched.

I just will never ever ever get tired of looking at NN chicks!

I've obsessed about these birds for far too long and now that they're in here, I'm just all

It goes without saying that I just HAD to get pics to have available with me while I work. You know, for those breaks where you just need some chick therapy but can't get the real thing? Hopefully we'll have the wall and door up for the in-coop brooder next weekend and can get them moved out with the MHP. I can't wait to be able to just sit WITH them, hopping all over and around me. Assuming I fall in love with their personalities, there's a very good chance I'll focus on a turken flock. They are so stinkin' cute!

give them some sesame seeds. it will fix leg issue and help them boost their immune system.
