Right, this gal is the one I had in mind. I would call her a Silver Quail.
I had wondered that, but couldn't find any pictures that were supposed to be Silver Quail.
Anyway I love that color. I want to try breeding fir it.

Great birds, but OMG, I love this photo!!!!!
She's lovely! I have someone in one of my growout pens who is pecking everyone. I'm already spending every spare minute building more growout space of the other chicks, but as soon as I have time, I'm going to observe to see who it is - I have a lot of chicks right now, and many are slated for culling anyway, so somebody may end up getting culled early...Finally coming back on. I also got the...updating page thing.
Anyway, very happy that Gladys' tail is normal now. She had problems with a meanie picking on her. Even her bare neck. Meanie is gone.

You can see how the breast and underside is solid and the back is patterned.
I would suggest crossing her to a Silver Columbian male or you could use a Silver Laced male (like a Wyandotte). Put the male offspring from either cross back over her to make more with her coloration.
Her daddy is a Cinnamon ( Columbian with a reddish sheen over his back).
I'm thinking this young cockerel will turn out the Quail pattern like her. He is her brother or 1/2 brother by the same daddy. Sone if the sane hens with a couple added so close kin.

Has anyone heard from @Kev in a while?
Not here.

I don't know, but I think he gets pretty busy some times and is away from BYC (I've done that myself once or twice for a while)...
