I love the bow ties! Here is a couple of photos of 2 of my favorites from the past.

They have grown up, I now have one of these babies that is point of lay.

My eggs are pretty much in lockdown. Will work on getting the humidity up tomorrow. Tomorrow is officially lockdown day.

They were cute chicks! I don't think that the bowties are bad, it's just that I am trying to work towards the cleaner necks in my breeding stock. So I will be selling the chicks that hatch out with those bigger bowties.

Ahh.. I see. You never know when hatching which you will get. Can't wait to see what you get. I can say this, they sure are a hardy bird.

I keep coming back to the necked neck's as one of my favorite chickens....we butchered a roo last sat and I found myself admiring the amount of dark meat and the lack of plucking.... so far they seem to have more of the size I want to see in an eating chicken too.
I still have many people that cone to me looking for laying hens that are turned off by the "ugly" birds so I am sure I will continue with my multi colored layer flock.

I'm going to try and remember to get a photo of this little lady that's point of lay. I say little, because her mom was really big! And her mom laid a huge pretty blue/green egg.

Mine are laying well, plus they are big enough to be a good meat bird too! They handle the heat here in the desert better than many other breed's do.
