Naked Neck/Turken Thread

Currently I can only dream about NN rooster because my family doesn't like naked necks at all, they barely let me have Nn hen. Loving how clean he looks!

I know how you feel. My husband doesn't care for them much. After he saw how how much easier they handle the heat, and 2 of my Australorps died from said heat, he has agreed they're a good idea here.
I love the way they look, the rest of the family not so much.

If it was for me, I would have whole flock of white naked necks with black skin. Oh yes, the back skin is the thing they will never accept. And blue eggs. They said blue eggs look like they are not good anymore:lau

Anyways, baby steps.

I love them! Do you have any pics of parents?
This is the rooster that fathered them.

People can be so silly.
It’s just the shell of the egg that’s blue.
The inside looks just like any other egg.
Some black skinned birds look really cool.

She knows that but what can you do:confused: She just doesn't like them so she's making exuses. Black skinned naked necks are my favourite.

I will get some ayam cemanis. should I cross them with NNs? I will definitely cross them whith bresse.
The Bresse are covering a few different patterns and colors (often blue and pencilling or partridge) under that white. And the AC's are covering different colors and patterns under their black as well. If you cross the two you may not get the black or white birds you'd expect. Just FYI.

I have got blue and splash bresse (a pair of each + extra splash cockerel).

I have decided to keep colourful flocks. so I hope to get surprise colour chicks. although my favourite NNs are 1) black, 2) white, 3) partridge, ...
