Naked Neck/Turken Thread

Beauty is as beauty does. A beautiful bird that dies in the heat is not as pretty to me as a live NN! My husband said they are so ugly, he won't mind me processing them! (As he feeds them grapes and builds them perches).
If the NN are to be processed, they are the easiest to pluck because they have so few feathers covering their bodies. They can make a nice looking chicken for cooking.

That's what I'm trying to work on by using a calico princess hen. She's the only bird I have that's big enough to support one of my males. I just have my first group of naked necks and can't get more chicks until next spring.

I was just kinda hoping these pullets wouldn't stay so small

It might depend on what breed that those girl's were bred to, or the breeder might not have been too selective in their breeding.
