Naked Neck/Turken Thread

Dudu, I love the 'bouffant' hair do's.

And Mr Magician has wonderful headgear.

I would have like more summer....we have had the coolest summer in 20 years with temps usually in the low to mid 60s. Already most of our trees have autumn colours and the mornings are cold with heavy mists. Sigh.

pgpoultry, thanks

These hairdo's are called "toppu" here in Maltese, LOL. It sounds very appropriate to my ear somehow.

I feel envious for your weather (why is it that we often like what we don't have? sigh.... LOL). It used to be like this in my country also (Latvia), and I sure do wish to experience it. Every time I see at least a little bit of mist in the morning here, it fills me with excitement. Anyways I'm sending you our summer at least virtually!

IMO a better type match would be a RIR. The SOP type reads closer to them than Leghorns. How about breeding to a Speckled Sussex to set the pattern? I suspect that's the pattern rather than a Mille Fleur. That type sould still be better than Leghorn. What hatchery did you get this color from?

I found two NN eggs that I thought I had thrown out. They were stored in my closet. Only problem is they were layed 8/3 & 8/5. I set them under my broody little NN anyhow. What harm will it do...will it?

Dudu , those are awesome birds! You've got to smile every time you go out to your coop.

I did that once for an egg that was on my counter. Because it hasn't been rotated the whole time I got this:

Had to cull it. It was messed up in a line all down the body, even the fuzz was messed up. I'm assuming it was due to that bad storage. Good luck though.

Can you put a NN into a fair type show? There wasn't one single one at our fair (its probably not a big fair) and no frizzles. Are those real breeds you could show?
I don't even necessarily care if it would count for anything, I think people would like to see one. Of course that being if I was lucky enough to hatch one myself.
