Naked Neck/Turken Thread

Kass; They are beautiful. They grow right before your eyes. The babies I brought back from Mass are in that crazy ugly feather stage . They aren't NNs but I'll try and take photos today they are wild things even though I hold them as much as possible.

Treats, that tames them down the best I've found. I raise feeder insects and those are great, but you can buy dried meal worms or I hear the cheap walmart brand of the dog food that looks like hamburger is great.

Draye thanks for the gender ID's. I sense a lot of practice in doing "the deed" in my future.

I change my mind everyday on this one boy/girl???/

Still thinking Reba is all girl.
first 2 are the cockerels, and the rest are pullets.

and from the start I just knew that the black one was a girl, just by looking at the face

Take a look again at that barred one with the rosecomb. 4th picture. Can't you see the saddle feathers there?

I agree with Nava. I don't see roo saddle feathers. Infact, the tail looks like a pullet tail, not a cockerel's to me. Whatever it is, it's a beautiful bird. Kassaundra, you'll have to let us know when it becomes evident.

25 new Naked Neck chicks this hatch (hehehe, 93 chicks total from this hatch). Blue, splash, and barred green-eggers (50% frizzle) from the Tx pen and #2 pen, and a couple from Plymouth Rock x NN cross.

Got some individual pics to load later. Some nice Fm chicks from #2 pen this go --- none of the birds in #2 pen show Fm --- yaay, anyway!
