NAKED NECKS RECOGNIZED COLORS, WHITE,RED,BLACK AND BUFF

I think you have some nice looking NN's. Just a quick question though. Aren't the buffs suppose to have black in the taile feathers? Columbian Buff?

no, the buffs that are around they all ,well most that ive seen

they have black on their tails, mostly because they came from a hatchery were they don't worry too much about the standard.

im trying to do my best to keep my flock of naked necks with a nice buff rich color, no black at all.

i did use one hen that have black on her but that's because there was nothing else to work with.

Nava,
Did you do any outcrossing to youor NN in the beginning? I'm wanting to do this but I'm getting anywhere from 1/4 to 1/3 of the offspring coming out completely feathered with NN to NN matings, so I imagine that NN to outcross would produce even more complety feathered offspring.
Your thoughts, please.

what are you trying to achieve?

but yes, at first you get lots of full feather chicks when you use a naked neck especially if it has one 1 gene with a full feather bird or even another NN with 1 gene..

i culled a lot at first then it got easyer, now im at the stage that im only keeping chicks with a double NN gene, so all the chicks that only have 1 gene i take them out of the breeding stock, but thats only like 25%

cause im getting mostly chicks with the DNNG ( double NN gene )

here's a list of Naked necks that only carry one NN gene.

this hens bowtie its a lot smaller than others and i thought she carried 2 genes, but i found out that she only carries a single gene.

now here are some with a double gene.

I'm going for the four show colors, and wanting to breed as close to the SOP as possible. I don't have alot of money to start over so I'm going to try to get there by breeding with what I have on hand. I will be on the look out for better birds as I go along. I however am not a person that will show, but would love to have those type of birds.

I have Black Jersey Giants that I'm, going to use for my blacks. I have a salmon colored rooster: , here he is. Not the best picture. I'm going to cross him to the BJG's, hoping that no red will leak through. My cousin has a black hen that I'm going to trade for, to help the project along.

I have one lone red hen that I not sure what to breed to for my red project. I do have a Ginger colored Easter Egger (sorry no picture of him). Maybe that would work.

for red you can use a RIR rooster ( not from a hatchery type)
