What is a well-house?

Our farm is on well-water. A well-house is a small building that covers and protects our artesian well, water storage tank and the electrical wires that run the submerged well pump. We have a heat lamp on a thermostat to keep the water storage tank from freezing, the extra tarps are used to keep the heat in.

I will drive/ride 2.5 hours to work

That's a long way to go to work!

Defrost the freezer
Make dog cookies
Do two loads of laundry
Check on the chickens every couple of hours

'Cousin Richard' rough plowed the driveway.
Gave the dogs their morning soup.
Pushed snow - deck and front walk, and part of parking area

Finished the parking area.
Cleared both vehicles.
Sprayed azaleas - blasted rabbit is munching on them. Time to relocate said rabbit to the beagle club.

I made sure the water warmer was working and broke the ice in the bowl without a warmer.
Will go for a bike ride, finally patched my tire and it’s holding air
Will study and stop procrastinating…

Collected the first Legbar egg of the year

Collected eggs before they freeze.

Broke ice so chickens can get water. Donkeys are getting water from stream in the woods.

Did laundry.

Cleared last night's snow off the car and truck
Gave the birds water and feed
Ripped 1/2" piece of skin off my R ring finger lifting a milk crate of trailer hitches into the bed of the truck with some choice words following. Time for a band aid, some coffee and some reading.
