The folks at my local middle school call me their "Live-in Sub." I'm there pretty much every day, but I still keep my hand in at our elementary school, where I first started subbing years (okay, two decades) ago. When I show up there, I usually announce, "Mom, I'm Home," to the lead secretary. She's an old friend and we have fun with it!

I've watched these kids grow up - many from PreK - and I love 'em all ... even the so-called "rotten" ones. Knowing the kids and staff so well lets me pick and choose my assignments ... which allows me to maintain my position as "The Cool Sub" while keeping some semblance of order. It's frustrating, at times, but a pretty cool gig. I have no plans to go anywhere anytime soon. They'll likely have to haul me out of the middle school feet-first!
 
Went to a friend's and checked his training enclosure for holes. No wonder his rabbit population is down - two heavily used escape routes.
Filled bird feeders at the beagle club.
Finished putting up the outdoor decorations. Really should do that before the ground freezes.
