Name for our Silkie "farm" lol?

Satin Silkies was used some years ago. Haven't seen it in a while though. Still, you wouldn't want the confusion.

Then again, if you aren't showing, or selling, then why not?

Names been taken already.....so Satin Silkies is out. I don't plan on showing and I really don't sell but locally...mostly chicks..sometimes hatching eggs, but rarely. Guess we just want a name for just us...and also if somebody buys chicks or adults etc. they can say we bought them from "_______" Something that'll stick out & people will remember. I definately don't want any confusion if somebody else already has the name. Guess my daughter will have to pick something else. How about Cotton Ball Silkies? Lol...I'm not very good at these things

In my case, I chose my name because I knew I wanted to show, and I wanted a 'farm name' for my show records to be filed under. I did not want my personal name used. Having a farm name also helps if my partner wanted to show along with me.

But if you're not showing, and you aren't selling, and you dont really have a NEED for a name.... why not just call them 'pets'?

My daughter just wanted something to call our little flock of Silkies. They are our pets and I don't plan on showing anytime soon. Thought about it but would be a few years before that happens if it does. So we don't "need" a name...just want one. Either way, I don't want to step on anybodys toes if they already have the name.

I would pretty much let her name it whatever she wants.

Something easy, something catchy...
