Name Origin Thread! Post the reason for your name!

I have natural red hair (not the orangey red, more auburn-ish) and people used to call me LiLRed from the time I was as toddler... but then I also love convertibles (have owned 6 of them in my lifetime so far and all but one was red! LOL) and on car titles, the body style of a convertible is listed as "CV" (as opposed to coupe or sedan or wagon or van). So that's how I come by my username.

And for the curiouser mindset regarding avatars, mine is of my Iowa Blue rooster ("Bleu") - which I took myself.

My name is MeatKing, cause. The first ckickens I had were meaties.. I knew nothing at all about chickens and my mil, called Cornish X, "MeatKings"

I've often thought of changing my user name, now that I know more about chickens

Well, my username is a big 'well, duh...' for most of you. When I got those 25 little tiny chicks in the mail, I was instantly all motherly and would have wrestled a grizzly bear to protect them... ah, hem. I know, silly me.

Now the 888 part is because 8 is the biblical number of new beginnings, and this is the third major season change in my life - retirement and a mini-farm. I do still work but it's a labor of love and I'm home all the time now.

So, there you have it!

Madame Dork was the name my husband gave me when I asked "What name should I use?" while setting up my Xbox account. It stuck. I've had it since 2005. Since I'm a huge gaming nerd, other than my birth name, Jaime, I will answer to MD or Madame since that is what most call me when playing games together. If I picked a different name for me here, I wouldn't recognize my own posts.

No surprise here, me and my family are fans of the New York Yankees. And, as you may have guessed, unique names have never been my strong suit. I mean, we adopted an adult cat who was much "nicer" than our current felines and he wound up being named "NiceCat". Real witty, right?

My username - waterchicken - I got 'cause I'm the one who's in charge of our animals. We had a Rhode Island Red (dubbed "Red" by my little sister) not too long ago, he charged my dad, dad whacked Red's head with a board. Red never was the same after that, he kept chasing our ducks out of the pond

, he would sit in it for hours on end. My youngest brother called him a water-chicken

, and because I was the only one he'd let near him before he died my dad started calling me waterchicken.
