Some people do use sharpies with no I'll effects, but they can be toxic just the same. Pencil or crayons are the best writing materials for hatching eggs.

No, your good! I already chose #18, and named it Azure. But thank you so much!
I don't know, I think you should call HIM Lucky, because normally I call mine HER, but they always seem to wind up being boys. So maybe if we say HIM, it will be HER.
