where chickens dare to tread..
My mommy brain isn't working. You know when they fly at another chicken, feet first? Sort of aggressive. One of mine is doing that frequently. Um... that doesn't mean she's a rooster, does it?

I think if my others could roll their eyes at her, they would. She's sort of annoying.

I don't know what it is called but all of mine do it too. And I have 3 for sure pullets and 2 hopefully pullets. I think they are just trying to work out pecking order and play fighting at this age.

Hm, I thought there was a certain name for it, but it might just be mommy brain catching up to me.

Well, good to know it's not necessarily indicative of a rooster. She's definitely working on being Queen Chick then.

Thanks for the feedback.

My pullets are doing that and they are about 5 wks old. So are my little chicks - they are not sexed. I think it is more along a pecking order thing. Even if you only have girls, one will be the dominant hen. She may not lay and she would take the vacant roll of the roo.

It's pecking order. Wait till your hens get big and do it. Talk about a girl fight!
