rio,
What does the Std. say?

That is always the more important question to ask and answer.

Hello!

From what I've researched, Nankins are very hardy birds that should be able to withstand climates such as your's. I have no experience with cold temperatures, though, so talking to someone who raises bantams in the north should help you out.

I got into Nankins back in '08 from reading an article on the Backyard Poultry Magazine. It was enough to entice me into purchasing some of these tiny guys.

You can read it here.

Ohh, wait.....I thought type had to do with the shape of the bird? e.g. Broad breast, etc.

*Sigh* We're all here to learn right?

I'll double check this time...

Type has to do with the following:

Shape
Comb
Weight
Sometimes height
Feather quality (particularly fluff or the absence thereof)

I want to buy some Nankins. I do not know anyone in my local area with them. Who would be a good person to buy some from? I think they are some of the most adorable bantams I have seen. They are truly cute.

Please let me know,

Christal

Does anyone have any of these for sale, hatching aggs, breeding stock or anything? We love these birds, we are in central ohio.

PM me for Marry Ann Harley's email. She ships out chicks throughout most of the year for around $5.50 a chick including shipping. Kyblue is also creating a waiting list for hatching eggs in the Spring.
