My dog has had fleas for quite some time now. We've given him bath after bath after bath with high powered flea and tick shampoo, put dose after dose of Frontline on him and NOTHING seems to be working!

Thank God he isn't an indoor dog otherwise we would have fleas everywhere. But poor baby, he itches like crazy and watching him drives me insane just thinking about how much he's suffering!! Like now, even as I type he's itching..

*Sigh..* Does anyone have a STRONG flea remedy that WORKS?!

Thanks!

Yup.. first thing you need to sprinkle food grade DE all over your grass. DO not breath in the powder, but it is safe otherwice. Then dust your dog. and I fine that if you feed him brewers yeast with garlic tabs in his food or straight it helps a lot. I prefer natures defense for flea and tick control. But the DE will kill off all the larvea that hatch.

DE at Amazon 50 lb bag. Feeding it to your animals will also deworm them if you do it daily. Suitable for chickens as well even people.

Nuke him with flea shampoo then use advantage 2, place flea collars inside your vaccume bag and sweep the house regularly.if the fleas are very bad you may have to reapply the advantage again in 2 weeks.. I have 4 dogs in the house that regularly play outside most of the day and i had the same problems but This seems to have done the job for me. It was recommended for me by the bug guy

Thank you very much. That flea collar in the vacuum bag is a good idea.

I forgot to mention that I've done the DE treatment already. Seemed to work for a little while (mind you I did a light dusting everyday) but those stupid little buggers seemed to become resistant of it!

I know you said you used Frontline but in my experience Advantage has ALWAYS worked. My friend had a really bad flea problem on his Merramara and his two Poms. (you could pet them once and your hair would be crawling with them).

The only thing I have had work is Revolution from my vet. I've done the DE, garlic and brewers yeast and Frontline and nothing is working. DE works for the chickens and the yard but they come back after a good rain. Plus Revolution helps with worms and heart worms all in one monthly dose.

The problem is that the fleas are hopping back on the dog from the environment faster than the Frontline or whatever can kill them. You are going to have to find some sort of a premises spray for the yard.
