NASTY and UNCONTROLLABLE flea problem driving me CRAZY!

We had this same exact problem last year. My dogs had been getting their monthly Frontline treatments, so I was distraught when a flea would jump on me while I was sitting on my couch/whatever. My vet recommended we switch to Revolution. Nope. Then we tried Advantix. Nothing, over those trial months they just got worse. I would salt my carpets and vacuum EVERY DAY. We finally switched to Comfortis and that, combine with a couple weeks worth of constant cleaning finally got rid of them. When Spring arrived this year, I chewed off all of my nails anticipating the fleas that would come with it. So far, so good! Our vet tried to get us to switch back to Frontline, apparently they came up with a new formula since so many people reported it ineffective. Never again, ever!

Don't put the flea collars in your vac. Then you inhale those nasy chemicals (which don't work anyway).

I wrote a how to in a thread a week or two ago. (I happen to be a vet). You can likely find it going back through here or look under where I posted.

Fleas are often much worse in the fall. Raccoons and possums spread them. In the summer, they don't have as many as they are grooming more as a way to cool down. But come fall...they don't need to groom as much, so they get more fleas. They wander through your yard, dropping eggs. The eggs hatch, the baby fleas are born hungry and jump on anything to get a blood meal. Within 24 hours of a meal, they start reproducing.
