Natural Nest incubation(my attempt)

Can you even hatch those with detached air cells? I got the impression that was a bad thing. And you can't incubate the different fowl at the same temps and humidity, can you? Not sure about all these things..just gleaned from reading.

From what I've read you can hatch the detached air cell ones. And as for the duck and mystery eggs my grandparents had one incubator and put everything from chickens, to guineas, to waterfowl, etc in it together and had no issues. I've also seen a hen hatch ducklings. I hope someone else chimes in tho.

My sister did that and only one out of 40 of the mixed eggs(turkey, chicken, duck and geese) hatched and it was very deformed, a duck. She kept it in a cage for a couple of years until it finally drowned while having a supervised swim..that wasn't too supervised.

But, then, my sister is a bit of a fool about such things and she could have been doing everything wrong on temps and humidity too, so can't judge it by her results.

I remember one batch that I was specificaly incharge of(I was 18) there were 26 LF, 8 bantam, 15 guinea, 5 duck, 2 goose, and 6 turkey eggs. The incubator was very similar to the one I have now and out of those I ended up with 20 LF 7 bantam, 13 guinea, 3 ducks, 2 geese, and 2 turkey. Biggest issue I had was the bigger birds took slightly longer then their norm due to the slightly lower temps, but the humidity was kept like a wet hatch which is what I'm gonna do

Also I just candled my box eggs and I swear I'm starting to see veins in 5 of them, 7 others I'm not sure about, and I think one already has a ring. But I'm leaving them all for now. After all I just started day 4.

I candled mine last night and didn't see any veins...didn't see anything but yolks, some big, some small. If this one doesn't work, I don't know what will because I've done nothing wrong to this one...it will either be from unfertilized eggs, and I don't know how that could be, or something I'm missing.

I might be wrong and just be hoping to see something. The ones I said had veins at the very least had good looking yolks. Also what day are you on? Oh and since my feathers are dyed orange some of the dye has come off onto the eggs so that could be what I'm seeing also. Don't give up hope, but I do think the fluctuations with mine are slightly more normal.

Any guesses on eggzilla?

I'm on day 6...I candled last night and didn't see much of anything at all that is different from day one.

I just recandled the shiped eggs after reading some of that thread. And the waterfowl just have saddle air cells, as do 3 of the LF eggs, but the poor bantems all have mulitiple bubbles and the rest of the LF have fully detacted air cells.
