there was a deal for 48 eggs for $47, so I decided to jump on it!

I'm curious, if I may ask, where does somebody find a deal like that?
(I can't get any, just wondering how that deal happens)

Ebay! I was really skeptical myself about buying any hatching eggs at first on Ebay (not because of the seller - their feedback was fantastic) but because I'd honestly never used it before. A friend of mine told me to look at 95% feedback and above with anything live (sometimes folks are quick to leave poor feedback with bad hatch rates, which, to each their own - but shipping can be rough on the poor eggs so to leave some wiggle room for negative feedback experiences due to that). We don't know anyone locally that has fertile eggs so it was our only feasible route I could find to get some, and so far we've got 6 set to hatch Monday from our very first attempt at hatching! There's so many nice breeds available, from show-qualified stock to rarer breeds or breeds with colors hatcheries don't usually offer. I've really enjoyed just looking at eggs even with no intention to buy more any time soon.

I decided to do one final hatch-along for the summer! Hubby was more than supportive of me turning my half of our gaming room into an "incubation station" and there was a deal for 48 eggs for $47, so I decided to jump on it! It ended up including purebred Ameraucana and we even got an unexpected Liege Fighter in there! (And lots and lots of brown Leghorns!) Two were cracked during transit, so I wound up with a still whopping 46. No complaints! I also got some frizzle-chance Buff Laced Polish for our son and Ayam Cemani eggs for hubby. (He really enjoys the look of the "gothic chickens" and our son wants a chance at frizzle Buff Laced Polish) so I'm including those even though they were set today.

If you'd like, claim an egg to cheer on (or two or three! There's a lot. ) and give it a nature themed name! Names like: Tiger, Hyacinth, Plateau, Bumblebee, Iceberg, you name it! Anything from geography to types of animals, kinds of plants/flowers/trees, etc. We plan to keep these names for them permanently, just like our dessert hatch-along. I felt the summer is the perfect time to appreciate all things nature. It has been such motivation to have people cheering with me on my others, so definitely wanted to do a hatch-along for these babies!

Green dot eggs will go into lockdown on 8/6 and (hopefully) hatch 8/9.
Pink dot eggs will go into lockdown on 8/8 and (hopefully) hatch 8/10.
