Natures Cafe Layer Pellets

Both girls are indeed laying. I’ll probably go to scratch with oyster shells once I get half way through my bag or so.

And standard size too...

To me, it's really a conscious matter. My avian vet told me that too much protein could result in being overweight and other problems down the road. Everyone can do whatever they want, but I'll stay on the safe side and listen to the counsel of my vet. And intelligent people don't just rely on one source like Storey's guide. They ask people, do extra research, and reach conclusions on their own.

I have been raising ducks for over 20 years...

mine look healthier when they get 20% protein feed.

The 17% protein feed costs less, so at times that is what I feed them....but they clearly do better at 20%, both my drakes and ducks.

At slaughter none of mine look overly fat. But mine have a good sized pen so get exercise.
