The first to hatch out of this batch. The navel isn't healed. There is a very tiny amount of white "goo" left in the egg which may be some of the yolk? I'd say about 1/2 teaspoon size. The chick otherwise seems fine. It's energetic and peeping wildly. Is starting to sit up, etc.

What should we do, if anything? I have some bacitracin ointment, should we use it? Should we continue to leave in in the bator to wait for the others or take it out and try to get it to drink and eat?

Just leave it alone. It should close up and be just about healed in 24 hours. It looks normal to me. If other chicks have hatched make sure when they are up and running around that it doesn't get pecked or picked at.

It's very normal in some chicks...leave the chick in the bator and it will absorb on its own...

I had one that looked exactly like that. The others were pecking at it, and I finally sectioned it off to a corner of the bator and it absorbed just fine.
