I know that relaxed feeling well! Nothing quite like it, especially this time of year! As far as the no egg conundrum, I have no idea. From the little I know though, no eggs for 5 days seems wrong. I know eggs can get caught in their vent at times, but I'd search for that on here because I know almost nothing about that. I think they call it "egg locked" or something. Maybe at first they lay more sporadic and all mine just started laying on consecutive days so I didn't notice?
"Egg bound" is the term you are thinking of..... but none of them seem in any distress..... when I open the door in the evenings, they fly down cackling like a flushed rooster pheasant...... running across the yard and challenging the next cackler as she makes a landing.....
Mine all look fine .....not shedding feathers any more so than usual. Do they molt their first fall? I wouldn't think so- those feathers aren't even 5 months old!
Starting a flock in Omaha. One Easter Egger, 2 Barred Rocks, 3 Rhode Island Reds and 2 Golden Laced Wyandottes. They're a month old now, and a lot of fun so far.
