Can you put a thermometer in the garage for a few days and record the highs and lows?

Being cool should not be a problem since you provide heat, but chicks have a very hard time cooling, so it's important they don't overheat.

The cage looks fine for another couple of weeks, but they will soon outgrow that too. If they are going to need to be in the garage for a while, start making plans on how to make their pen bigger. Large cardboard boxes taped together make a nice corral.
When they outgrow the cage, would it be ok to put them in the coop with my other hens? Or should I keep them inside a bit longer?

How is your coop made?
For me, it's best to house youngsters next to the adults so they get familiar with each other. I usually wait until the youngsters are a couple of months old before I leave them all completely together, I do open up gates so they can interact supervised. Adults can be brutal to newbies (at least mine are), so that' something to watch for.

It has 3 nesting boxes, and 4 by 4 area they have their food and water at, and it has a little drawdoor I open during the day that lets them go into a fenced in area outside. They all came from the same person so the hens are used to having small silkies around

Update on the chicks! I have a schedule where I take out their heating pad from 10am to 12am. I was monitering the temperatures and it stays in the 80s all day. I noticed some odd poops, anything to be concerned about? All others were normal, there were 2 that were like that, dark and thick
