If I remember correctly, you have treated with Corid as well?

I'm just brainstorming here - they seem to be o.k. with the heat you give them correct?
How fresh is your food - I know even if you buy a new bag at the store, sometimes a store can have old feed-does you bag have a date on it anywhere, does the feed smell "fresh"?
Any chance something in their area/environment is acting like an irritant -air freshener, cleaning products, aerosols, etc.?

I hate to hear your just really starting out and are having problems. Sometimes that happens when birds come from different sources. Birds may not show symptoms until they encounter some type of stressor - going to a new home, integration, coming into lay, etc.

Do keep in mind that respiratory illnesses are contagious (you know this), depending on which illness they have, they can be carriers for life even when recovered and can pass it along to other birds.

Yes, the Corid seemed to help. I think the latest one died because of the respiratory problem. Their heating is fine, but on hotter days I take their pad out because it heats up too much. I'm actually moving them to a huge dog kennel when they finish Tylan so they can have more wandering space, I was also going to buy another older chick to keep them company. Their crumble has no date, doesn't smell old either. There is only about a quarter left so they'll be getting fresher feed soon anyways. I specifically make sure to not use anything potentially harmful in their area. The only things near them are their medicine, feed and a fan.

Tips on giving them the medication? When I try and hold their beak open, they shake their head violently. And when I do finally get it in their mouth, they shake their head and a lot of it flies out!!!

The hens you can try to put it on a piece of bread.
The chicks...one drop at a time...no real easy way.

Sounds like you are doing everything you can. I hope they get better soon.

I do realize that you want some more (who doesn't want more) and have suffered losses, but it may be better to get these in good health before you get more chicks.

If you decide to get more chicks, then add at least 2 simply because a lone chick may not be readily accepted. Do keep in mind that any new chick(s) you bring in, may get sick from whatever your current ones have.

Even if you are able to gets these birds back to healthy know that they still may get any new future birds sick.

It's a chance you have to be willing to take and be prepared for. The unknowns are such a gamble but lab testing would give you a for sure answer. I am pretty sure your state lab accepts swabs that you mail in so the can test for something like MG or MS.
(Just wanted to state that in case it's something you may be interested in.)

I’m so sorry that you are having such a terrible experience! You are doing such a great job with caring for your fuzz babies. I highly suggest buying your next brood of chicks from a different hatchery or breeder. Bear hugs to you!

I'm so sorry.

She's still running around and trying to jump out, not lethargic, just laid a bit odd. May of been that my grandma had used parchment paper for the bedding while I was gone. Switched it as soon as I got home
