Melina, you have some real good information. I think that hatcheries have gotten it under control with some methods and vaccinating. But we backyarders are feeling the brunt of it now , there are so many of us, and we all are unprepared for dealing with Marek's. Unlike hatcheries that practice all in-all out and sanitize in between, backyarders add chickens all the time, and it only takes one. And if the adults don't die, they become carriers, but resistant. I've never seen so many posts in the last few years that people are asking for help because their birds are dying and they don't know why. I will have to now vaccinate any chick that I get. But like you said, there probably is Marek's all over and it's not going away. Now it's up to us owners to alter our biosecurity methods to contain this virus as best we can.
