Good Luck to you too! You are hand turning? Hand turning is a pain, but after 3 years of hatching, I find that I get better hatch rates than when I use my auto-turner.

i made my last set on 2/25. 42 eggs of americanas , silkies, cochins, bramas and china game. i also have 118 bobwhites due for lockdown on 3-9. i just built my bator and am very nervous about it being right. i guess time will tell..

Thanks! I am hand turning - I would drive me insane to not touch the bator for 21 days! And I don't have the dollars for a "nice" incubator.

I just candled- 48 & 57 hrs in bator: one air sac was floating all over the place (very oblong shaped egg anyway), shipped egg. I think the rest have sticking air sacs in the right place. One has a line I'm not sure if it's veins or bacteria (??I thought I saw a pic that looked like that with a description saying bacteria??). I'll do it again at 7-8 days.

I don't have kids but my friends' kids are so into this!!

Okay I finally got my eggs situated and in egg cartons to make it easier for everyone in the morning to be able to turn the eggs. My daughters help with that in the morning while I am at wrk they turn them for me and 50 eggs is a lot.

thank you sweetmotherofmars for sending me the link. It will really come in handy.

I'm having a bit of an issue that I hope someone here can help with.

I have my 8 Rouen duck eggs and 2 guinea eggs in the incubator, all set last Thursday. I candled the duck eggs tonight and, though they all appear to be growing, some appear to be growing more slowly than others. I'm hand turning, so when I reach in to turn them, should I change where they are in the incubator? I have them in a forced air LG, but evidently have something going on. I can't see a doggone thing in the guinea eggs, but am not too terribly worried about whether they hatch; the ducks are the ones stressing me out

Now that I have gotten a little more sleep I went and read how to post a picture.
Here is my incubator with my homemade egg turner and 50 eggs.

Once again thank you Sweetmotherofmars for sending me the link.

I have not changed where they are at when I go and turn mine, unless I have one that just refuses to stay where I put them. I do not see why it would hurt them if you wanted to change them around a little. I just try and keep mine together only because when I have different breed in there I can keep them in the same group. At least I did with this group sense Its more than I have ever Bated.
I think I have read other posts where they did tend to move them around in their bators.
Hope this helped you
