that must be like watching popcorn pop when they hatch. I would have my nose pressed to the bator all hatch day. no chance for hubby to get a nice dinner that day. best of luck.

chickiemamma,
I also set eggs on the 26th, I set 30 eggs. Been saying its 50 but have NO clue on how I got that number. Must have really been tired the night I got them

6- barred rockXwelsummer
6-RIRXwelsummer
6-RIR,
2 unknowns
12- Eater Eggers, Think they will lay blue and green eggs.

and thinking of adding 2 my other bator to see how well it wrks. Its an Old bator. They do not make them anymore. Its a Leahy Favorite Incubator. nice redwood cabinet with windows on side and front, Turn knob for the temp control. Have it at 100 for the past several days and 20% humidity. So think I will place them in there and see how they do. I will do it Friday so hopefully they will start hatching then. Day off that day.

Good luck on your hatch.

Good Luck to you too! Never heard of that incubator, but if it holds the temps well... then it works for me

As cheap and hard it is to regulate temps in my LG.. I get the best hatches.. same for my Hova Bator.. called it "old reliable".. I have the time though to keep a close eye on them.. (stay at home mom) so its not too bad.. Hoping for lots of chickies for you !!

I'm having the same issue with the same thermos!!! Do you have still air(I do)? I think if you put the end of a couple of the thermos right at the level of the yolk that's what you want to be 99.5.

Anyone PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong!!

I keep my thermometer just at the top of the egg and it reads 100.5 (so the rest of the egg is above 99) In a still air you can run the temps a little higher than in an incubator with a fan. I sometimes go to 101.5 at the top of the egg. My hatches are usually right on time (day 21) or sometimes day 20. I don't set more than 24 eggs at a time, so I try to keep all the eggs on the same side of the incubator (in case of fluctuations).

lol, I'll let you know if it's like pop corn, I've never done this many, heck I've never had 4 incubators. I only had 1 last year with 2 dz eggs at a time. One thing I do know is that the 7 of us can be watching in 4 incubators instead of 1.

you couldn't see in the little window, there was too many heads in the way. I can't wait!
I can see veining in the light colored eggs!
