I think it's best to wait until it drys out. Be very careful because the humidity drops significantly. I left mine in there all night and they were fine. I just didn't want to jeopardize the others.

I'm on day 19 and I'm just about dying to see a pip. I saw them squiggling around in there yesterday when I candled and I'm still freaking out that maybe they'll all die without hatching. This hatching stuff is enough to make me take up drinking..... (not really, but you get the idea

Okay, before I had to leave the house I had seen 2 eggs that were in the process of starting to hatch. Really did not want to leave the house but DH needed me to bring him papers. And he said I needed to get out and get a life outside of chickens and eggs LOL
Does he not get that, that is my life ha ha. So will post when I get home what is going on

I have 2 babies out! A buff and a splash silkie. One other egg is rocking, but no pips. I have a feeling the 4th egg quit right after lockdown.
Lets hope the 3rd one hatches.. I'll post pics tomorrow

We lost power today also. The bators got down to 90. I covered them to keep them as warm as I could until the generator came on. Good thing for the generator, they went out at 1:00 and didn't come back on until almost 8:00 pm. I checked a few and they seemed fine.

hey, you forgot to tell me about that. are our babies ok?

2 pips and one cracked out of 41 so far. Tomorrow is hatch day! Glad I had to work today so I didn't spend ALL day with my nose stuck to the window like last time lol.

this is my first time hatching in several years, i guess i forgot. will a chick keep its original color when it gets it adult feathers? prob. not the correct thread to ask on, forgive me.
