I had one totally zip and die in the shell. I don't know what happened, but when we did an eggtopsy, it just didn't look "right" - maybe a little under-developed, not alot of yolk absorbed, etc. So, yes, Mother Nature knows what she's doing. I'm bummed tho, the egg was out of my most favorite "9 lives" EE hen.
