How terribly sad. I feel so sorry for their families.

Just a week or so ago there were 4 officers slain in Oakland, CA. It is just heartbreaking.

Yes it is hard when it hits close to home - my DH has been in law enforcement for a little over 10 yrs - It does make it hard - but I honestly can't see him doing anything else.
The call outs, late nights, shootings, etc that he has to go on - will make you pace and age quickly.
My heart and prayers go out to all those in blue and their loved ones.

We had a young state trooper on the interstate where there was road construction, and he was setting under the overpass right at the end, watching the traffic, and a semi driver wasn't paying attention, ran through all the barricades, hit him in his car and killed him. His wife was 7 months pregnant with twins, and that was such a tragedy for our area. He was a twin also, so it was more than just a family tragedy, his brother lost his best friend and brother. . .what can be done about these people and the guns. I absolutely believe in the right to bear and have arms, don't misunderstand me, I was raised with guns and hunters all my life . . .but an AK-47? And, it always seems to be someone off balance that can get their hands on them . . .or someone full of hate and discontent. We need to stop worrying about what is going on overseas as much, and focus on bringing this country back to what it was created for. This country is full of people who think nothing of shooting someone, just because. . .and punishing them doesn't seem to deter the next one. . .heartbreaking for so many people.
