Need a little support 😞

I had to cull two out of three cockerels a few weeks ago. I couldn't find any local takers, not even for meat. They had become very mean. They kept challenging and biting me, and they were bothering the pullets so much that the poor girls would not get off their roost! I went in with dishes of food and water for them, just so they could eat. After the mean cockerels were gone, the girls came outside, ate and drank (and pooped) like there was no tomorrow. So getting rid of the two was the right thing to do. There was peace in the flock again.

But, I cried. Oh, I cried. I still have the pictures of when they were little flufferbums sitting in my hand.

I had the same thing happen to me.... my rooster was THE SWEETEST roo ever but we couldn’t own him because of city limits and we had to give him to a farm store... I loved him so much...
