Need advice on neighbor concerning my duck...HELP!!!

A wing band or clip(not sure the correct word) clips permanently on to the wing between the shoulder and the bend. Most times it can not be seen under the feathers.

If you had made reasonable efforts to get the owner's consent to go onto his property to check the duck and your efforts end up fruitless, and if your suspicion that the duck might be yours is reasonable, then you may trespass onto his property, but you shouldn't be liable for the trespass because the law recognizes a private necessity defense. As far as establishing the duck is yours, it is pretty much a he say - she say scenario. You would just have to really convince whoever the authority figure is that the duck is yours based on other neighbors giving testimony that the neighbor never had a white duck and you had a white duck and now it's missing. You can also appeal to common sense and say why would you make such a big deal over one duck if it really isn't yours.

I would just go and get the duck, if you have tried to contact them with no avail, i bet they will come out and cuss you out as soon as you cross the property line!!! If they call the police because a turkey was in their yard, they sound like real tweakers!!! I know if it was me and i was 100% positive the bird was mine, i would go and get it and deal with the people when i came into contact with them. But then again, all my neighbors are awesome, we watch out over eachothers places whether we are home or not, and we always help each other out when we are in need!! It shouldnt have to be the way your situation is, that just sucks.
