need advice on treating ducks that were attacked

More of the same, mostly. I'm going to weigh them again this evening and if anybody isn't gaining or at least holding steady, they're getting fed (this means you, Blanche...) I've actually seen Tony and Rose eat, but not her.

The tube feeding tutorial is a little overwhelming... I'd like to try just using a syringe for now. @Duckworth did you puree wet crumble mash, or veggies? Or just use baby food? Did you do it at the corner of the bill, like the meds? I think she's interested enough that if I got it just inside her mouth she'd gladly finish it off.
Your doing good. Just keep watching to see if they will eat and at the very least drink. Look for poop too! Good luck! You are doing great!:hugs

Thanks :)
Blanche does drink. None of them are drinking anywhere near what they should be though. Rose poos pretty much every time she gets out of the "hospital" (and I'm sure plenty in it, lol), either on the way to swim or go outside, or as soon as gets in the water. I think I've seen Tony poo a couple times, but I can't think of once that I've seen Blanche do it... not that she hasn't (or so I hope), just not often enough for me to catch her doing it.

ok. Thanks for telling us! Just be sure to keep an eye on them.

And this is why I've never liked that vet's office. I called to ask their opinion on her not eating, if I should be worried, what to do... "if she's not eating you should probably bring her back in". That's it.
If it comes to that, I'll drive the half hour and take her to one that cares and knows more.
Edit: And why I love my vet - called there, and while I did have to wait on hold a while for her to finish up with someone, the Dr. herself got on the phone with me, said that was indeed concerning, and we might switch to Baytril, and she should have some Meloxicam for the pain. I'm gonna take her over now.

Good luck and let us know how it goes!

I took them all, not just Blanche. She didn't like the matted feathers one bit, said he should've cleaned them. She was concerned that there might be infection brewing underneath, and was concerned about Tony's face still being swollen. First thing she did was weigh them. Her recommendation was to leave Blanche and Tony (she said Rose looked good) overnight so she could put them under anesthesia tomorrow morning and clean up the wounds, which as much as I did not want to leave them, was totally the right call, I believe.
And apparently poor Rose is on her own for the night, because I put her with Dexter and Ruby and they immediately started chasing and snapping at her

Poor Rose I hope she did okay with out her buds. Please let us know how Blanche and Tony are doing today. Great you too them in.
She jumped out of the "hospital" (which is a very deep tub - it's a Jacuzzi) this morning and was wandering around the house. I considered taking her to work with me but decided just to leave her be...hope that was the right call...might be going home at lunch to get her, lol.
Vet's office is supposed to call when she gets done with them, which shouldn't be long since it was actually her day off so she's anxious to get done and out of there. So kind of her to come in and take care of them anyway <3
