Hi all, I'm a new to having chickens and ours hatched a couple of days ago, we have on that has a lump on or around its vent and was told its the remaining yolk sack, but I'm worried as this was supposed to be absorbed I left him in the incubator of over 24 hours after removing the others, and its been another day isolated as the other chicks were pecking it. It has not gone/reduced, what can I do? other than this thing on his behind hes very active strong, Eats, drinks and poops fine and very vocal as I think hes lonely (unless your giving him cuddles). Please help.

Yes, that is the yolk sac. Some people have success with putting these kind of little guys in a cup so they can't peck and potentially rupture the sac. And so others can't peck them. It is a struggle for these little guys though.

How is he doing today?
