Hello all, I have couple things that I need an advice on. Fist, I have a 24 Cornish Rock chicks they are 3 weeks old now and I noticed that they are sneezing constantly they've been doing that for about 2 weeks now I don't know what I should do? They are on meat bird feed 12 hours on and 12 hours off now. And for bedding they have large shavings that Tractor Supply sells for chicks.

Second, at our local auction I got 5 gold laced wyandottes and 6 brahma chicks. It looks like they are from same seller and their bodies are completely bald, feathers only on wings, tails but not on butts, and fuzz on their bellies. What's wrong with them? I never saw anything like that but they look healthy they run around, eat well. They are in separate brooder but I noticed that some of them started sneezing too what is going on?

Any ideas?

You need to get this over to the emergency thread. I think your chicks are sick. Sneezing is not good, you are right to be concerned. As I remember it is treatable, but I don't remember the regimen. Title your post to them Cornish Rocks sneezing. what's wrong??
They will help you.

Alright let's take a look at your entire problem then brake it down Ok..

!. Water are you putting any Probiotic in there as this is needed now ....

2. Electrolyte in the water needed as soon as possible both of these
can be purchased at your local feed store .....

3. check for any drafts around chicks and no smoking around chicks
also go's for wood burning smoke ....

4. You need to boil up some egg's and remove the shells and save
shells for later then mash up egg for chicks one egg for every ten
chicks three times a day for 6 days as they have been sick for
some time now .....

5. Your feed is it 20% protein or better and designed for chicks ?

Thank you so much for answering!

1. any probiotics will work?
2. I have electrolytes handy right now what is the proportion for chicks?
3. hmm my dad is a smoker and he spends a lot of time near chicks plus we have the brooder and the wood burner in the basement
4. does it matter what kind of egg it is I have duck eggs mostly
5. it is 20% protein and it is starter/finisher in our local Agway I've been told that people are using this feed for their meat birds .

Quote: Your Electrolyte 1 tea spoon into their water should be fine that is a gallon and an empty milk jug can work...

Sav-A-Chick products always work best for me so I will ask what kind or Probiotic do you have ...

The smoker is the culprit here ..... need to stop the smoking around baby's this is 90% of the problem ...

Any egg's will work .....

Your feed is fine this is not the problem at all ......

One more question. do I need to add electrolytes every time I fill the water? How about Probiotic do I combine it together with the electrolytes?
