Need book series for a 6 year old

Oh yes - Mr. Putter and Tabby! Great series for her age. I had kids that didn't like to read who started reading like crazy when they started on the Mr. Putter and Tabby series.

Would the younger-reader version of the Black Stallion series be suitable? I know some versions are more for pre-teen, but I've seen very thin paperback editions too. ?

I dont have any ideas.. but i just think that its sooo great that the kid likes reading! I love to see that!

If you are interested in older books, look for the Mrs Piggle-Wiggle series. I read them back in the early 70's, and have seen them on eBay.
