You want string that they can't eat any of, or break through with intense pecking. Probably depends on how strong the fishing line is.

Yes! I also have wood attached to my fascia on the side of my house.

If you have a crossbeam on the top of the run, you can tie the swing on there. You can also do something where the strings holding up the swing meet in the middle and all go to one string. You can then hang this on one of the side beams on the run.

Chain is the best choice for hanging things IMO. I would avoid using anything braided/twisted/woven around chickens. If it frays and they swallow a length of it, it could be fatal.

Probably. The internet tells me they're not poisonous, and I can't think of any other problems they could cause.
