Not sure Tylan is your best choice, but it probably won't hurt. To the best of my knowledge, 1/2 cc is nowhere near enough, andTylan should be given at least twice a day. If I were going to use it for a respiratory infection or enteritis I would give 1/2 cc per *pound* *twice* a day.

Can you post some pictures?

Try to convince your husband that a trip to the vet is needed.

Unfortunately he isn't going to agree to a vet. If not Tylan 50, what antibiotic do you recommend? I'm giving 1/2 cc twice daily. Reading posts on here seem to recommend Tylan 50, at that dosage. I need whatever is available at TSC, that is really my only option.

Best pic I can get of him. He's a wiggle worm.

TSC may also sell Duramycin-10.

And if it were me I might try a ginger compress. Grate some fresh ginger and wrap it in a moist clean cloth and hold that on the leg for several minutes. It's said to be a natural antibiotic. There is also colloidal silver, another topical antibiotic. Clear iodine is something else to consider .

I've been using iodine. Will it asborb unto the skin and kill the infection?
