NEED EXPERT ADVISE - HAVE A TWO WEEK OLD CHICK WITH SOUR CROP, FADING FAST!!!!

Just noticed it yesterday, came on quick. Did lots of research last night and discovered sour crop, can't believe even at this young age they can get it. I have hatched hundreds of chicks and this is the first! Chick is only two weeks old....

So, what can be done!!!

Thanks for the link, I'm afraid that at two weeks old this little one just doesn't have what it takes to make it thru that??

I have never heard of a two week old with sour crop. Did you try ACV in its water? Giving chick grit to help clear out whatever is in there causing a problem?

Yes it's sour crop, you can feel it all in there. I did get it to spit some of it back up but definitely lots more in there but it's just soo weak at this point. I didn't add avc till last night as I have NEVER had to do anything like this for young ones. Too late I believe as the sour crop is already soo full that the acv can't get down that far.

I now have it separated but not sure it is going to make it. Need to know what they next step is???

Are they on shavings? Is it possible that the little crop is full of shavings? I'm sorry, I can ask the questions but I'm not sure that anything can be done. It is just too tiny Can you get it to a vet that might be able to empty the crop?
