Need hatch buddies for or close to the 18th!

I've been keeping my still air incubator at 101 exactly... It's only went down a few times to 98. Should I lower it to 100 or so? Everything I've read says 101 for a still air. I'm making my husband take the flashlight so I won't try to candle every day!

As long as it is going between the 98 and 101 you should be fine..do you have a turner? Too funny, you have your DH takes your flash light? I'm a candleholic! I actually candle the 24 hrs. later thing, to see if I can see any bulls eye. Gives me an idea of how fertile they are..then I leave them alone until around day 4, then day 7, then day 10. Good thing I did by day 7 with this bunch, I had one with a real bad blood ring..tossed that one pretty quick.

. It's his flashlight that usually stays in his jeep but I stole it to look at the eggs lol. I threw one clear egg out today that had little blubbles in it. We saw at least eight little babies moving around in the rest

aww, always fun to see them move. No matter how many times I do this, it's great to see the movement. Congrats!

Thinking I will candle tonight, just to see if I can see bigger babies in those dark maran eggs.

Of the 28 I started with, I'm down to 13 that look viable and 2 that I'm pretty sure are duds. It's about what I expected for shipped eggs, tho. The thing I find interesting is that I had 2 shipments of 16 and 12 respectively. Of the 16 in shipment "A" I've only got 5 left (and 2 of those are my suspected duds). I've still got 10 from shipment "B" that all seem to be doing well. It makes me really wonder what sort of abuse shipment "A" took before they got to my house.

Good luck everyone!

Yay!!! Fingers crossed for everybody! I have a little ducky that is trying to break free right now! (If he can just make that first pip... I can assist if need be.)
