I have had many eggs shipped to my home. I have also noticed something. From certain places, from there to here, I know, which ones are going to be less to hatch. Make sense? I'm wondering about the post office, or post offices on the way for those that don't do well from certain areas. Interesting.
Some do well..for example, from AK, to Ut. I usually have great hatches. I've had several different breeds come from that area, not just one breeder. So, even from PA to Ut..great results. From other areas that I won't mention because it could be ok going in a different direction, I have bad results. Just take notice if you order often. You may notice the same.

A hole in an egg is what I went through with my last batch. It took that little one a long time to hatch, in fact, after waiting for it to zip all the way around, it finally stopped. I just popped the egg shell at the top to make it a weak shell, and the baby was hatched before I knew it..did well. So, if your little one takes it's time, and is only rotating slowly, you may want to break that top part a bit, but give it some time first. I waited the day night out, then did it in the morning. I could see that it was breathing. Just making a suggestion here, you know better than I how the baby looks..like if it is moving a piece of shell back and forth..breathing and pecking away!

Humidity most likely. It's hard to keep that up for the ducks and geese. Sorry.
