Need help caring for my new Quail

The hen is probably stressed from the move, new environment, and new cage mate. It will take her a little time to settle down and resume laying, if she's of laying age (around 8 weeks old). I use a grit/calcium supplement designed for finches and cockatiels. As for the breeding behavior - she may be too young to really know what's going on, and this weird bird jumping on her back freaks her out. Or it could just be her behavior. I've got hens that run from males, hens that chase males, and hens that give little fuss. If you give them a hide spot, it may help her calm down overall. I have a clay flower pot in one of my cages that a hen will lay in occasionally.
