How old is the chicken, and is she having any symptoms of lethargy, hunched posture, separating herself from others, poor appetite, or not laying eggs? Do you see any blood in the droppings?

Added more content to original post. She's not quite herself walking off to a corner, laying down tail up or tail up standing. Her crop was hard vs soft. I've massaged it, hear gurgling not too bad though, she has access to grit, she has been laying.no blood

It can be hard to diagnose an illness from just looking at droppings. I would check her crop first thing in the morning to see if it has emptied. Crop impaction can occur during other illnesses, worms, or a blockage further down in the gizzard or intestines. If she is laying normal eggs, it doesn’t sound like a reproductive issue, but those casuse crop problems as well. Is there any way you could get some fresh droppings collected overnight in a dog crate, examined by a vet to test for worms and coccidiosis?

If the crop is still full and hard in the morning, I would put her on water with electrolytes, and feed a little egg with a tsp of plain yogurt, but no solids or whloe grains. Massage it several times a day in a downward motion.
