Need Help! Duck pipped on Saturday

Oh....and this one is probably going to need higher temps in the brooder than what you might usually start the hatchlings at. Babies that have rough hatches should be started 4 or 5 degrees warmer than those that hatched proper.

If the duckling is exhausted, feed it scrambled eggs. The same situation happened with our female duck, Lucky. Oh, also feed it water SLOWLY in SMALL QUANTITIES with a dropper. This helped Lucky a lot and she now has eggs of her own!!

by the way im a kid

Excellent advice! Once this baby is healthy enough to eat, hard boiled or scrambled eggs make GREAT emergency food for birds. Everything the need to recover is in an egg.

Oh, and DuckiesRMyThing,

Thank you all so much for the advice! He is still in the incubator resting. When should I move him to the brooder? And I have a 5 day old baby in there already as well as a floppy stuffed bunny for them to cuddle with. Will he be ok with the other chick or should I place him in a small box inside that brooder box?

I'm afraid to reduce humidity too much because of other eggs pipping...what do I do about drying this one out? I feel a little dumb asking all these questions but I'm a nervousness wreck...lol

You don't need to reduce the humidity, I didn't reduce it with any of my batches of eggs. don't worry, i'm sure they will be fine.
