I had a duckling hatch with a hernia. It's my first duckling. What can I do to help it? Will it make it?

that's unfortunate. I bet @The Moonshiner and @Eggcessive have good advice.
Thank you for the tag. I have been worried about this little one. It seems strong. It's alert and peeping. I put it in a small bowl in the incubator with a warm damp towel under it. We found this duck egg on a pond at our land. We've never raised any birds of any kind but invested in the equipment to see if this duck was alive and would hatch. It's been a rough hatch and a rough start. I am really hoping it pulls through.

UPDATE: For anyone else experiencing a duckling with a herniated umbilical area. It's been about 24 hours since hatching and 90% of it has been absorbed into the duckling. It's just a small red spot now. The duckling is very active, going potty, and doing very well. Just giving hope for anyone that may be scared seeing theirs like this.

The only thing I know about hernias is they must go inside the body before the navel closes up, else they will not be able to poop & will pass away. I’m glad it got absorbed, and your baby’s doing well :)

I also want to add, this looks like a wild duckling (wood duck?) to me. So, you’ll want to get this baby to a wildlife rehab.
