Need help - eye swollen shut and blister on beak

3 of 4 chicks hatched by one of my Barred Rocks last week have gotten these blister-like spots on their beaks. Two have swollen eyes, the third's eye is swollen shut. I've searched the internet and, so far, haven't hit on anything that explains it. I've observed no other symptoms. None of my other birds have had any illnesses. I'll keep searching the internet, but I'm hoping someone here can help me diagnose this. Thanks!

Nobody helped you with this?! Gahhh....I'm searching too....2 little chicks I recently bought have come down with swollen shut eyes but no beak blister...so I keep looking....How is your lil one...did it worsen and starve out? or recover?

My baby game biddies have the same thing the first litter of biddies didn't have anything like that but these do idk if it is Miskitos or what but one has his eye swollen almost shut and a bump on the other eye and a small blister on the beek if anyone figures something out please let me know

Did anyone with this issue figure out a solution to it? I have 2, 5 month old bantam pullets that have the exact same thing. Started out as bubble in their eyes, and then gradually the swelling and the blister like thing on their beak. I am reading alot of people having this issue, it seems there should be a known remedy somewhere! I have tried triple antibiotic ointment in eyes, oral antibiotics, even an IM antibiotic and nothing is touching this! These pullets act sick (ruffled feathers, heads tucked up under wings, etc), but they eat and drink like there is no tomorrow. I really can't see putting them down when they act like this, but their symptoms keep getting worse. It is getting close to winter and I don't know what to do. Any suggestions?

Wow, I wish I had more advice, but fowlpox does seem likely and if it acts anything like chicken pox it is viral not bacterial which means treating symptoms, not the bug itself unfortunately. I have no experience with this maladie but if it were me, I would be bolstering their immune systems to fight whatever it is. Eating and drinking is a good sign. IN CASE OF CONTAGION, isolate these sick birds and make sure no-one else can contract it. Monitor them closely for improvements and downturns. Keep water with ACV or vitamin/electrolyte compound available at ALL TIMES. Vitamins can solve a lot of problems in poultry. Feed them medicated starter with extra pro-biotic yogurt or kefir to aid their digestion. Keep antibiotic ointment on the wounds if they are open to keep them from getting infected. All I can say guys and I hope it helps, I hope more people with better advice come along.....good luck.
