I'm exhausted trying to find a vet that will perform a hysterectomy on my chicken angel. She is in critical condition and maybe has one or two days left though I hope she has more. I called all yesterday evening and this morning and only one vet said they would do it but not in time. Cornell university said they would but they have to examine her first and they don't haven any immediate opening they said later next week which angel can't wait and then they would have to schedule an appointement for surgery on a seperate day and the estimate seemed way off budget, she was telling me like $1600-$1700 which I don't have. My budget is $700 and hopefully I can get it done for less than that. I think they normally run between $350-$500. Has anyone had a hysterectomy performed on a chicken in New York? I must have called dozens of different vets and am exhausted, a lot of them say they take birds in but they won't perform surgery. I called every vet on this list here
every vet that is in new york on that list that is and some more thats that werent on that list
So if someone knows a vet who is willing to perform this surgery and they are skilled let me know. I know I probably seem a bit crazy but this is my daughters favorite chicken and she is very upset and I promised her that her chicken would get better.
